There are many, many, many different types of marketing/advertising ranging from creative to strategic. Not sure how old you are but the best way to determine what is best for you is to go to a college that offers advertising or marketing programs, expose yourself to everything they have to offer and make the determination yourself.
I work in more of the numbers and execution side of marketing plans and campaigns for both print and digital and I enjoy it. I also know many people who are involved in creative execution and they enjoy what they do as well.
There’s 100 different parts of marketing you can focus on. The only suggestion I can make is to expose yourself to as many as you can, be as knowledgeable with as many mediums/functions as you can. Obviously digital is becoming a huge part of marketing — learn as much as you can on digital because that’s where a lot of advertising dollars are being allocated to.

I have a new exciting Project and need help with marketing & advertising?
I need to rent out 300 studios in a building to students in the price range off £140.00 – £180.00 per week. So the best way to do this is get in touch with big companies who take on students; For example, A Bank firm currently rents 30 rooms from the comapny for students who work for them. The Bank gets a reduced rate as they still pay even though the rooms are not filled. This now makes my life easier as I have 30 rooms I no longer have to worry about.
So does anyone know off any companies or sites to advertise this and importantly how do I approach this delicate situation? I also need to market this so does anyone know off any Universities which require such service?

As the others have pointed out, color can be a very strong identifier of your product or brand.
Carrying your color scheme throughout all advertising and marketing is essential to making it work. Think of Pepsi cans, bottles, boxes, advertising, delivery trucks, etc.
The more times people associate your logo, colors, product, and quality, the more effective your marketing will be.
Color is a visual reinforcer. With TV, Videos, billboards, magazines, newspapers, and even color screens on your cellphone, you are tapping into a different part of the consumers brain. Your color could even be black, if it is used consistently and it would work, if you always used it and it represented your company well.
Take a handful of 15 or 20 random business cards, and toss them out on a table. Look around for a minute or so, then pick them up and recall as many as you can. Most likely, a good use of color will stimulate your recollection better than any other single thing.
Using color in advertising is great if you have a big budget. But for small businesses with very limited budgets, its possible to get a good identifier with reverse type (black background with white print), halftones (greyish background) or a good use of white space. Even using one color (much less expensive than full color in a newspaper) will help make your ads stand out. For instance, I have a client who has an Irish name, Kelly, and we use kelly green in all his ads for the logo, shamrocks and a headline, and do the rest in black and white. It stands on the page more than a full color ad would, for about half the price.

Since you asked for our thoughts on this subject, I can think of several instances where I can answer your question intuitively, so my resources are my own experiences.
1. Color schemes are extremely important in packaging and logos. Think IBM; you see those three blue letters: instant brand recognition. 2. Colors can create brand loyalty, but only after the fact. You use a product, it performs well, you like it, you look for it the next time you’re ready to buy. 3. In this way a color can become a signature trademark. IBM becomes "Big Blue," for example. 4. The benefits of using color in advertising are then very significant based upon the first three factors. A product performs well and/or tastes good consistently; you become familiar with its packaging and/or logo, you look for it the next time you go shopping. Result: instant brand recognition. Example: Coca-Cola. You come to prefer Coke, so your eye scans the store shelf looking for the familiar red can with its distinctive lettering. Also, it’s perfect for holiday promotions. At Christmas just add some green holly or Santa with his white, fur-trimmed cap; Fourth-of-July, put some colorful fireworks exploding on the red can.
I know that when I go shopping in a physical store, and I’m looking for crackers, for instance, first I find the cracker shelf, then my eye quickly eliminates all but red boxes, and I scan those for the Zesta logo. This is why stores are always moving stuff around, in an attempt to break your brand habits; you have to look at everything when certain products have been moved to a new and unfamiliar location.
