Does anyone have a Business Marketing degree?
I am currently working on my Bachelors in Business marketing. Can I do anything with this degree?? Is it going to pay well further on down the road? I want to make money, but I do not want a degree in a dead end field. Can someone please elaborate.
I have the same dilemma as u..
However, i graduate in next year.. depending if i pass and undertake some kind of internship.
At the moment, I’m currently looking for some Work experience in the advertising/PR/media area. Id suggest to talk 2 ur career counsellor about internship or work experience, as it is vital in getting a job after graduating.
B-to-B Marketing Fundamentals Don’t Change (Long)
While technology, communications channels and media usage habits change over time, the fundamentals of profitable business-to-business marketing do not. In this excerpted video from a live staging of the classic McGraw-Hill “Man in the Chair” ad at the Business marketing Association’s 2009 national conference, opening speaker Ralph Oliva, executive director of the Institute for the Study of Business Markets, drives home the fundamental similarity between how buyers and sellers built awareness, credibility and business relationships 50 years ago and how they continue to do so today, albeit with many new and revolutionary tools and techniques at their disposal. For more information on BMA’s “UNlearn” conference and to see the original “Man in the Chair” ad, go to http://www.marketing.org/conference and http://www.marketing.org/images/Mcgraw-Hill.ad.jpg

BUSINESS MARKETING???
ok well we have a project and i was jw what this phrase meant….." it will also indicate in which publication the ad will appear"
thanks for the help:)
What is the whole sentence? From the above, ads of various sizes are placed within publications such as magazines. There are many variables used in placing ads such as demographics of the product you are selling, the ad message and concept, how the company wants to portray the ad, etc. After such variables have been determined you want to make sure that the publications you choose to place the ads in are cohesive with the variables. For example if your client sells outdoor equipment, and they want to reach outdoor enthusiasts ages 18-45 males and there is a winter campaign , you could place an ad in SKI magazine if the ad concept and message were a right fit and the magazine demographics line up with the males 18-45 audience. Hope this helps.
AA in Business Marketing or Culinary Arts?
I’m planning on a return to school. I’d like to get into the foodservice/ restaurant industry. The culinary arts program I’m looking at doesn’t seem to look at the business side. Would a marketing degree be a better way to go. Saddleback College has a good business dept, but I think I need to take my lumps in the kitchen to excel in the industry? Thoughts
You should look at other programs to see if they have a culinary program that has a business side.
If you have to pick take a marketing degree more options in case you want to change jobs.
good luck.

Is a major in Liberal Art better then Business Marketing?
I am student majoring in business marketing and would like to seek professional advice to help me decide on what is the best major to obtain. I enjoy marketing but at the same time I would like to be marketable after I graduate from college. I would appreciate your advice, thank you.
Well…..as far as I know, a liberal arts degree, would make you less marketable. I am a teacher and that is what most of my fellow teachers had majored in, not sure what else you can really do with a liberal arts degree to be honest. I would stick with the business major, you could then go back and get your MBA (that was my original plan, didn’t follow through on that one though…) and make a good living.

Are there any good entry level jobs for somebody with a marketing or business admin degree?
I’ve been contemplating either getting a degree in Business marketing (2 years) or Business Admin (4 years), but I’ve been wondering how are the entry level jobs for both? Which degree would suit me better etc.?
First of all, if you are going to bother getting a degree, go for the 4 year degree. An associates really isn’t going to get you anything except questions on interviews asking why you didn’t go for the bachelors.
Second, entry level job basically means you are going to be working your butt off doing more than you are paid for because companies know they can pay you less because you have no experience and are new to the work force. I am not saying this is bad. In fact, it is completely normal. Just don’t expect to get a job paying much more than 30-35K your first year out of college. Everyone has to work their way up. Be prepared to be someones gopher for about a year or more until you are qualified for the higher paying and "good" job. This is a part of life, basically no way of getting around it. But if you stick it out and have a good attitude and do a great job, you will be golden for the rest of your career! Good luck
