A Liberal Arts major requires that you have a career in that subject and, if it is something like literature, the only related career fields you have are in academia. That doesn't make much money and there isn't a whole lot of demand for it. Other than that, all it does for you, career wise, is give you a college degree to put on an application. It isn't a major most employers are enthused to see. Business marketing, on the other hand, has far more opportunity and greater earning potential. I am a teacher and that is what most of my fellow teachers had majored in, not sure what else you can really do with a liberal arts degree to be honest.
