Is a major in Liberal Art better then Business Marketing?
I am student majoring in business marketing and would like to seek professional advice to help me decide on what is the best major to obtain. I enjoy marketing but at the same time I would like to be marketable after I graduate from college. I would appreciate your advice, thank you.
Well…..as far as I know, a liberal arts degree, would make you less marketable. I am a teacher and that is what most of my fellow teachers had majored in, not sure what else you can really do with a liberal arts degree to be honest. I would stick with the business major, you could then go back and get your MBA (that was my original plan, didn’t follow through on that one though…) and make a good living.
I personally like it more. But it’s all up to the individual.

It is probably more interesting, but is far less functional.
A Liberal Arts major requires that you have a career in that subject and, if it is something like literature, the only related career fields you have are in academia. That doesn’t make much money and there isn’t a whole lot of demand for it. Other than that, all it does for you, career wise, is give you a college degree to put on an application. It isn’t a major most employers are enthused to see.
Business marketing, on the other hand, has far more opportunity and greater earning potential. Also, once you’ve had a few years experience in the business world, you can move to other areas of business.
