I think that if you need that little confidence boost it’s alright too wear makeup and do your hair diferently than your natural, myself i used to wear my hair straightened everyday and i wore these litte jelly paddings with my bras for a year, then during the summer i became more comfortable and threw out those paddings and i let my hair go long and curly, and i actually feel more confident around guys now because if they do like me then it’s because they like me the way i am.

I agree! A lot of times, when I go out, I always do my makeup with really fun colors, or whatever. My boyfriend actually likes when I do stuff like that. The other night he told he he wanted me to look “pretty” but that is NO means telling me he thinks I look bad without makeup. He loves me either way. He just loves it when I feel good about myself and if that means trying out new makeup, or putting on a hot new dress, then he is all for it. But of course I don’t go out like that ALL THE TIME

i agree.. there are certain extents to which this stuff is appropriate. If you go to bed in a push up bra or fake eyelashes so you can look beautiful in the morning, you have issues.

you’re totally right! i used to wear pushup bras and my circle lenses everyday.
i ditched the circle lenses, and that was a huge step for me.
then i ditched the pushup bra.
i HATE wearing either now because it makes me feel fake again, but this video made me realize it’s ok to wear pushups once in awhile as long as its not everyday anymore. this video really helped, thank you

I think wearing fake stuff is fine. I think if you can’t leave your house without that stuff its fine. And I believe if you want that stuff permanent that is fine too. It’s your body do what you want with it. And Just to let everyone know I hardly ever wear make up, never worn false lashes, don’t wear padded or push up bras or inserts, or padded anything. If i had time and money I probably would every now and then for fun.

I feel a little bad for those people who think they NEED those things because it seems that they really cant see how beautiful they are without them. On the other hand I have no problem with any of it as long as you don’t depend on it as your only source of self esteem. WE ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!… but sometimes its really fun to va va voom it up a little. ;D

Any cosmetic enhancement is a good thing if it can lift a person’s self esteem and raise one’s confidence level. It isn’t hurting anyone else. So, there shouldn’t be a big deal about it.

my husband tells me that I’m most beautiful with no make-up and my hair in a ponytail…but I also tend to remind him that his jaw drops when I am all dolled-up with nails done, false eyelashes, push-up bras, etc… It’s fun to turn it up a notch on special occasions, etc.

I think the same way you feel: it’s all in fun! You’re right when you say it becomes a problem if you have to truly ask yourself if you will be OK without… Then, it becomes a problem. It’s just girly fun and shouldn’t be so serious. I mean, performers wear extensions, but people only get upset about it if it’s someone they know. Why is that? But then again, I think people get upset because the extensions or padding looks fake, lol.

I think I have the same thoughts as you… I can go out with NO makeup, and just in a sports bra and feel fine. I can just pull my hair back really quick and no need to tease or hairspray it.. And Like you, I know things are going to come off at the end of the day.. and I don’t put it on everyday.. But True, It DOES enhance our beauty as well as our confidence. But Yes, when girls can’t STOP using those items anymore, it does get a little crazy.
